Thomas Becker, PhD, Managing Director, is a portfolio manager and researcher on the Global Tactical Asset Allocation (GTAA) Team within BlackRock's Multi-Asset Strategies group.

 

Dr. Becker’s service with the firm dates back to 2010. Prior to assuming his current role, he led the fixed income research effort within the multi-asset Global Market Strategies Group (GMSG). Prior to BlackRock, Dr. Becker served as an economist in the Office of International Affairs at the US Department of Treasury in 2009. He was a Fulbright Scholar in Germany in 2004 studying Eurozone integration, a visiting scholar at Harvard University in 2010, and has published in a leading finance journal.

 

Dr. Becker earned a BS degree in economics from MIT in 2003 and an MA and PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 2008 and 2010, respectively.
