Jim Schwartz, CFA, Managing Director, is Head of Municipal Credit Research with Municipal Fixed Income business in BlackRock's Portfolio Management Group. He is a member of BlackRock's Municipal Bond Operating Committee, which oversees all municipal bond portfolio management, research and trading activities.
Mr. Schwartz's service with the firm dates back to 1990, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. At MLIM, he oversaw research efforts for long-term municipal bond funds, defined asset funds, and private investor portfolios. Earlier, Mr. Schwartz was a senior analyst specializing in high yield bonds and a project manager for the technology department. Prior to joining MLIM, Mr. Schwartz was a senior financial analyst for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
Mr. Schwartz earned a BA degree in economics from Rutgers University in 1987, and an MBA degree in financial management from Monmouth University in 1996.
