Vidy Vairavamurthy

Vidy Vairavamurthy, Managing Director, is the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for the Alternative Portfolio Solutions (APS) team. His research focuses on developing relative-value views, optimization models, and risk analytics that aid in the private market portfolio construction process.

Vidy’s service with the firm dates back to 2005, as an Analyst in BlackRock Solutions supporting the firm's Fixed Income Portfolio Management Group. He was also a member of the Risk and Quantitative Analysis Group, responsible for risk management and performance analytics for the multi-sector and credit portfolios. Prior to assuming his current role, Vidy served as the Head of Quantitative Research for BlackRock’s Alternative Solutions Group.

Vidy graduated, magna cum laude, with a BS degree in Information and Systems Engineering and an MS degree in Analytical Finance from Lehigh University.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, reading up on tech history, and cheering on the Knicks.
