Managing Director, Deputy CIO and Head of Global Macro Positioning Team within Global Fixed Income
Russell Brownback, Managing Director, is Deputy Chief Investment Officer of Global Fixed Income, Head of the Global Macro Positioning, and a member of BlackRock’s Global Fixed Income Executive Committee
Mr. Brownback is a co-lead portfolio manager of BlackRock's TriaXial Fund, Core Bond Fund, Inflation Protected Bond Portfolio, Strategic Income Opportunities Portfolio, Strategic Global Bond Fund, Total Return Fund, and the iShares Total Return Active ETF.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Brownback was a Senior Partner with R3 Capital Partners. From 1992 to 2008, Mr. Brownback was a Managing Director for Lehman Brothers where he was the head of the firm's Corporate & Emerging Market bond trading desks, and he was a Financial, Industrial, Yankee and Emerging Market sector bond trader.
Mr. Brownback earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Hobart College and a Master's degree in Management from the Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University. He has been an adjunct professor for both graduate and undergraduate studies at Syracuse University's Whitman School of Business.
