And 60% of plan sponsors would like to find ways to encourage participants to stay in the plan after they retire. Since participants are ambivalent about what to do with their savings when they quit working, there's opportunity to match their need for direction with sponsors' desire to keep them enrolled.

The company’s desire is that people remain in the plan. But I wouldn’t necessarily say they’ve done a lot to ensure that that is going to happen. Keeping more assets under management means we can keep expense ratios lower for everybody. And participants have access to lower-fee products they wouldn’t have access to in a private IRA.
