Managing Director, Co-Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock's Fundamental Equity Group and Head of BlackRock’s Fundamental European Equity team

Nigel Bolton, Chartered FCSI, Managing Director, is Co-Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock's Fundamental Equity Group and Head of BlackRock’s Fundamental European Equity team. Nigel manages the investors in the European Equity team; and has overall responsibility for performance and investment processes across our EMEA based investment teams. Nigel's focus is on the development of great investors working together in teams, combining deep fundamental investment processes with data, technology and disciplined portfolio construction to achieve client objectives. Nigel is a member of Blackrock's Global Operating Committee, GEC Investment sub-committee and the Fundamental Equity Executive Committee.

 

Nigel joined Blackrock in 2008 as Head of European Equities and lead Pm for our largest pan European strategies. Prior to joining BlackRock Nigel held a number of senior portfolio management positions including Head of European equities for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership and Citigroup Asset Management. With over 30 years' experience in investment management Nigel is widely regarded as an expert in equity fund management and has won numerous prestigious industry awards such as Morningstar's European Fund Manager of the Year. Nigel has been a regular contributor on financial markets and equity investing through a variety of global media outlets.

 

Mr Bolton earned a BA degree, with honours, in Economics from the University of Nottingham and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
