  • Hi everyone, welcome to Around the World in 80 Seconds. The first quarter of the year is behind us, and it was a positive one for risk assets, while seeing volatility in rates. As we kick off Q2, we zoom in on our three themes.

The first, ‘the new nominal’, keeps us focused on what the drivers behind the backup in rates are, and here we continue to broaden our risk view, given the focus on higher growth and inflation expectations. So, we like the value factor, cyclical sectors, and cyclically-tilted equity markets like the UK. We also look at inflation linked bonds. Our second theme, ‘globalisation rewired’, keeps us focused on China across equities and bonds, whereas our third theme, ‘turbocharged transformations’ – here, we look at the structural trends that accelerated in the pandemic, and so we continue to focus on technology – both the sector and the thematics. And of course, last but not least, the shift to sustainable – and here it’s worth sharing that flows into sustainable ETPs are at a pace to break the 2020 record this year – when 2020 was already record-breaking. So, thank you for joining us, and check out our implementation guide for more.
