Ray Dalio is the Founder, Co-Chairman, and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Bridgewater Associates, a global macro investment firm he started out of his two-bedroom apartment in New York City 46 years ago. He has been a global macro investor for over 50 years.

 

Ray graduated with a B.S. in Finance from C.W. Post College in 1971 and earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1973. He has received several lifetime achievement awards for his innovative thinking which changed the way institutions invest their money (e.g., risk parity, alpha overlay, and All Weather), and he is the author of the best-selling Principles: Life & Work as well as Principles for Navigating Big Debt Crises and the forthcoming Principles for Dealing with the Changing World Order. He is also a valued macroeconomic advisor to many policy makers around the world. Because of the impact his thinking has had on global macroeconomic policies, Ray was named by TIME magazine as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World.” He is active philanthropically and takes a special interest in ocean exploration.
