Ali Almufti, CFA, Director, is a portfolio manager within BlackRock's Systematic Active Equity (SAE) team. Ali leads the private growth equity strategy for SAE, with a research emphasis on systematic investment applications for private markets. Ali’s research focuses on the increased intersection of private and public market investment opportunities.
Ali is also responsible for North American long-only, partial long-short, and long-short equity strategies within SAE.
Mr. Almufti's service with the firm dates back to 2006, including his years with Barclay's Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, he was a portfolio manager in the Active Equities team. Prior to joining BGI, Mr. Almufti served as a senior hedge fund accountant at CITCO.
Mr. Almufti earned a BA degree in economics from the University of California at San Diego in 2004. Additionally, Mr. Almufti has been a CFA charterholder since 2008.
