Chief Investment Officer for Fundamental Equities (FE), EMEA

Helen Jewell, CFA, is the CIO for Fundamental Equities (FE), EMEA. As part of the FE Office of the CIO she provides investment, performance and process enhancements and oversight across EMEA portfolios while also representing FE’s expert insights internally and externally. Helen has a particular focus on sustainable investing across FE to ensure a robust process for all sustainable product and also develops strategies to enhance and scale research across the FE platform.

 

Prior to this this role, Ms. Jewell was Global Director of Research for FE and was responsible for creating connectivity across all of FAE’s research teams, developing and building tools such as Aladdin Research to systematically connect BlackRock’s investors. She has also been a key driver of developing the use of alternative data in investment processes through PMG. Through her roles, Helen partners with investors across all asset classes of the business and as well as those in BIS, BSI, and Aladdin to ensure investors have access to outstanding research to make the best decisions for its clients. Helen is a member of the European Executive Investment Committee and the Fundamental Active Equities Executive Committee.

 

Before joining BlackRock, Helen was Deputy Director of Research at Goldman Sachs where she had responsibility for talent development and regulatory issues and was part of the EMEA Investment Review Committee. Ms. Jewell earned a BA degree in Mathematics from Oxford University.
