Tony Stenning, Managing Director, is Head of Retirement, EMEA.
Mr. Stenning's service with the firm dates back to 2000, including his years with Mercury Asset Management and Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. He is responsible for driving the firm's vision and strategy in the region on individual retirement and leads EMEA's Defined Contribution business. Prior to this, Mr. Stenning led our UK Retail business between 2009 and 2015. Mr. Stenning plays an active role with a number of industry bodies, frequently engaging with regulatory authorities and government on a range of industry issues / initiatives. In addition to heading Retirement in EMEA, he is also a member of the Leadership Committee and is CEO of BlackRock Fund Managers Limited. Mr. Stenning is also a regular speaker on various industry topics.
Mr. Stenning is also chair of "The Savings and Investment Policy Project" - an unprecedented collation of 50 leading firms (representing asset managers, financial advice, stock broking, wealth management, banks and life companies), trade bodies and important consumer groups. This group aims to develop strategic proposals for a Savings and Investments policy with the interests of UK families firmly rooted at their heart.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Stenning spent several years in private client fund management with a particular focus upon collective investment schemes. Mr. Stenning holds a BA (Hons) in Economics and is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
