Director, Co-Head of Research of the Alternative Solutions Group

Vidy Vairavamurthy, Director, is Co-Head of Research of the Alternative Solutions Group (“ASG”) within BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI). He focuses on Alternative Solutions' quantitative research initiatives and is responsible for portfolio modeling, optimization research, and risk factor analysis for private market investments.  Additional responsibilities include developing relative-value models that aid in the portfolio construction process.

 

Mr. Vairavamurthy began his career with BlackRock in 2005 as an analyst in BlackRock Solutions supporting BlackRock's Fixed Income Portfolio Management Group and was also a member of the Risk and Quantitative Analysis Group as a fixed income risk manager where he was responsible for risk management and performance analytics for the multi-sector and credit portfolios.

 

Mr. Vairavamurthy graduated magna cum laude from Lehigh University with a degree in Information and Systems Engineering, and received an MS degree in Analytical Finance from Lehigh University.
