Ryan Marshall is Co-Head of Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) and a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee.

The MASS team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock’s index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and cutting-edge alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels. BlackRock announced in September 2025 that Mr. Marshall will become the sole head of the MASS team in January 2026 as part of a series of changes in the firm’s organization.

MASS combines both world class alpha seeking capabilities and client service. The group strives to meet clients where they are - so clients can deliver for their stakeholders. MASS brings the benefits of scale to clients, that only BLK can deliver, through a combination of technology and partnerships across the firm as well as with third party service providers.

Mr. Marshall joined BlackRock in 2009 as co-head of the portfolio management team in Financial Markets Advisory (FMA). This team served central banks and financial institutions across the world during the Great Financial Crisis, providing asset management, valuation, advisory and liquidation services.

Mr. Marshall’s leadership in the multi-asset arena dates to 2012 when he moved to London to build up the firm’s FMA capabilities in EMEA while also playing a leadership role in the European LDI and OCIO business. Upon returning to New York in 2015, he shifted his focus exclusively to Multi-Asset working to lead and unify the business globally.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Marshall was a Managing Director at Kohlberg, Kravis, Roberts & Co. in New York. Prior to KKR, Mr. Marshall spent 12 years at Morgan Stanley. While at Morgan Stanley he served as head of the securitized products trading desk and subsequently as global head of fixed income research.

Mr. Marshall began his career at The First Boston Corporation where he focused on asset sales and securitizations of residential and commercial real estate whole loans and mortgage- backed securities.

Mr. Marshall earned a BS degree, cum laude, in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in both Finance and Multi-National Management.
