Head of Global Business Operations Services
John M. Perlowski, Senior Managing Director, is Head of Global Business Operations Services (BOS) within Technology & Operations, President and Director for BlackRock's U.S. Retail Mutual Fund family and a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee.
BOS is responsible for managing all operational components of the portfolio and transaction lifecycle at BlackRock. This includes the following teams: Portfolio Services, Regulatory and Accounting Services and Product Governance. These teams support product structuring, transaction processing, risk management, regulatory compliance, provider management, and various solutions that drive efficiencies within the asset management ecosystem.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Perlowski was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM). He was the Treasurer of U.S. Mutual Funds and Director of Offshore Funds. He served as Chief Operating Officer of the Global Product Group. This area was responsible for the overall control environment supporting the funds, fund accounting, vendor management, shareholder, and distribution services. Mr. Perlowski is an Advisory Director of the Family Resource Network, a non-profit organization that provides services to individuals and families that are affected by developmental disabilities such as epilepsy and autism.
Mr. Perlowski is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned a BBA degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
