Alex Claringbull

Global Head of Index Investments

Alex Claringbull is the Global Head of Index Investments. A member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee, Mr. Claringbull is responsible for all aspects of investment and business performance for the firm’s Index Equity, Index Fixed Income, Derivative and Digital Assets and Transition Management businesses.

Mr. Claringbull's service with the firm began in 1996, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Prior to his current role, he was Global Head of Indexed Fixed Income. Prior to that, as head of the EMEA Indexed Fixed Income team, he concentrated primarily on global government bond funds and leading the effort in iShares fixed income portfolio management and iShares product strategy. Prior to this, he was in the Indexed Asset Allocation team and the Transitions Services group.
