Co-Head of Americas Pensions group within Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS)

Gabriella Barschdorff, CFA, Managing Director, is co-Head of Americas Pensions team within Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) at BlackRock. In this role, she is responsible for co-leading the team that delivers outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO), custom investment advisory, and strategic asset management partnership solutions to corporate and public pension clients in the Americas.


The Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) team is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock's portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. MASS draws on the full toolkit of BlackRock's index, factor, and alpha-seeking investment capabilities to deliver precise investment outcomes and cutting-edge alpha insights. MASS constructs active asset allocation strategies and whole portfolio solutions across a wide spectrum of commingled funds, separate accounts, model portfolios, and outsourcing solutions in the wealth and institutional channels.


Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, Gabriella was a Client Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Her expertise covers asset allocation, pension finance, asset-liability modeling and liability-driven investing (LDI). Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Gabriella was responsible for Institutional Solutions at AllianceBernstein where she worked with large institutional investors conducting customized research on asset allocation, alphabeta management and liability-driven investing. Other experience includes J.P. Morgan's Strategic Investment Advisory Group, and covering developed markets as an economist at AllianceBernstein.


Gabriella holds a Master of International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Economics from London School of Economics. Gabriella is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.


She lives in Manhattan with her husband and three children.
