Mark R. Woolley, CFA, Managing Director, is the Co-Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock Alternative Advisors (BAA), the firm's Hedge Fund Solutions team. Mr. Woolley is a member of the BAA Investment Committee, the BAA Management Committee, and BAA's Co-Investment Portfolio Management Group. He is also a portfolio manager and is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring hedge fund managers and hedge fund-sponsored co-investments, primarily across Europe and Asia.

 

Mr. Woolley's service with the firm dates back to 2001, including his years with Quellos Group, LLC, from which the alternative investment management business was acquired by BlackRock in 2007. At Quellos, Mr. Woolley served as Managing Director focused on sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring alternative investment managers, most recently for Quellos Asia Limited and previously for Quellos Europe, Ltd. in London.

 

In addition, Mr. Woolley serves as a member of the Board of Governors and a trustee for the Church Commissioners, the body responsible for the management of the Church of England's investment portfolio.

 

Mr. Woolley earned a BA degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Washington in 2000.
