BlackRock has announced plans to commit up to £500 million to an investment program delivering next generation enterprise data centers across the UK. These data centers will be refurbished to be NVIDIA-ready, enabling them to support the evolving demands from businesses for high-density compute capabilities. Boosting the UK’s overall data center capacity, the program will finance the modernization of data centers to better serve blue-chip companies with enhanced cloud solutions.
The investment program will be delivered by a newly launched data center operating platform called Gravity Edge, which is a joint venture (JV) between BlackRock and DGP, a specialist digital infrastructure investor and advisor. The platform’s strategy will acquire, expand and refurbish enterprise data centers in key UK locations where supply has been constrained by power availability.
