Sandra Lawson, Managing Director, leads BlackRock’s initiative to provide insights into key drivers of capital markets growth. She joined BlackRock in 2021 as head of BlackRock’s Center for Long-Term Capitalism and subsequently worked in the firm’s Global Client and Product businesses to tailor strategic content on investment themes, markets and client business needs, including energy pragmatism, private markets and infrastructure.

 

Sandra has more than 20 years’ experience in sell-side investment research, having worked for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong, London and New York. As Executive Director of the Global Markets Institute, Goldman’s public-policy think tank, her work focused on financial stability in the wake of the global financial crisis, capital-markets development, long-term growth opportunities in the BRICs countries and the impact of technology on the labor force. Her analysis of the economic impact of women's education underpinned Goldman's ‘10,000 Women’ initiative providing business education to female entrepreneurs in emerging markets. She has degrees from Dartmouth College and Yale Law School and began her career as an intelligence analyst covering Chinese politics and military.
