Global Head of Liquidity and Financing

Roland Villacorta is Global Head of Liquidity and Financing and a member of BlackRock's Global Executive Committee.

As one of the world’s largest cash managers, BlackRock manages liquidity assets across multiple currencies for corporations, banks, foundations, insurance companies and public funds. Liquidity & Financing – which includes Securities Lending, Securities Financing and Cash Management – focuses on delivering financing and liquidity performance to clients and investment teams and on ensuring financial resource capacity. It’s a part of the BlackRock Global Markets & Index Investments team.

From 2008-2015, Mr. Villacorta was head of Portfolio Management in BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory Group, which advises, manages and executes highly specialized asset dispositions, long-term portfolio wind-downs, contingent management, bespoke hedging and valuation/risk assessment assignments for institutional clients. During this time, he led the execution of over $250 billion in portfolio dispositions.

Previously Mr. Villacorta was co-head of the Portfolio Analytics Group and co-head of Fixed Income within BlackRock's Risk & Quantitative Analysis Group, where he was responsible for overseeing the provision of risk management tools to all portfolio management professionals within BlackRock.

He began his investment career at BlackRock in 1994 as an analyst where his responsibilities included developing internal infrastructure for modeling derivatives and tools for analysis of treasury and mortgage markets as well as facilitating the Kidder Peabody mortgage trading book liquidation. He also served as a risk advisor to the mortgage and commercial banking industry.

Mr. Villacorta earned a BA degree, cum laude, in mathematics from Princeton University in 1994.
