Charity investment strategy in a time of crisis

The outbreak and global escalation of the current coronavirus crisis has led to a ‘perfect storm’ for many UK charities, placing unprecedented strains on their finances, people and resources.

To help guide you through these times, Robert Hayes, Investment Director for UK Charities & Endowments and Gemma Gooch, Head of UK Charities & Endowments have written a brief note intended as an accompaniment to the recent BlackRock Investment Institute [BII] paper ‘Weathering Shocks’. This thought piece draws upon some of the specific challenges faced by charities in light of the current environment, and considers the ways in which they may respond when reviewing their investment strategy and cash generative options in this context.
