Joe Hill, Managing Director, is the Head of Legal and Compliance for the Latin America and Iberia Region at BlackRock. He is also a member of the firm's Latin America and Iberia Regional Executive Committee.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2013, Mr. Hill spent six years as the Senior Associate General Counsel and Regional Head of Latin America at MetLife. From 1994 until 2006 he worked at J.P. Morgan and predecessor institutions. At J.P. Morgan, Mr. Hill was a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel and served as the principal lawyer for Latin American legal matters. Mr. Hill began his career in Madrid, Spain with Uria & Menendez and was an associate in the New York office of Mayer Brown. He has been admitted to practice in both New York and Spain.
Mr. Hill has chaired the Inter-American Affairs Committee of The New York City Bar Association and has served on the Association's Executive Committee. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors of Accion, a leading microfinance organization. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Hill earned a BA degree, summa cum laude, from Fordham University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He holds a JD degree from Columbia University and MBA degrees from Columbia and London Business Schools.
