David Frechette

Head of Credit Product Strategy within BlackRock’s Global Fixed Income Group

David Frechette, Managing Director, is the Head of Credit Product Strategy within BlackRock's Global Fixed Income group. He is a product strategist, providing a link between the investment teams and client groups. In this role, he is responsible for product development, marketing and client service.

 

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2012, Mr. Frechette was a senior portfolio manager at Liberty Harbor, an alternative asset management business of Goldman Sachs Asset Management. As a founding member of Liberty Harbor and a member of the Investment Committee, he was responsible for assisting in the management of the group's fundamental investment and trading strategies. He had been with Goldman Sachs since 2006.

 

From 2004 to 2006, Mr. Frechette managed the Private Assets Portfolio in the Corporate Investments Group at Amaranth Advisors. Prior to joining Amaranth, Mr. Frechette was a member of the Leverage Finance and Sponsor Coverage Group at CIBC World Markets, where he worked with the firm's private equity and corporate clients to originate, structure and execute debt, preferred and private equity financings. Prior to assuming that role, Mr. Frechette focused on CIBC's European High Yield products. Mr. Frechette also previously worked in the High Yield Group at Chase Securities, in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Lehman Brothers and at the Argosy Group.

 

Mr. Frechette earned a BA in political economy from Williams College in 1993.
