Alan Synnott, Managing Director, is Global Head of Research & Product Strategy for BlackRock Real Assets. BlackRock Real Assets comprises BlackRock's Infrastructure and Real Estate platforms, with 375+ professionals across 25 cities globally, and manages over $40 billion in equity and debt assets and investor commitments
In this role, Mr. Synnott is responsible for developing and articulating BlackRock's views and forecasts for Infrastructure and Real Estate markets globally and for delivering these to the Firm's clients via a range of open ended, closed ended and listed Real Assets investment strategies.
Mr. Synnott joined BlackRock in 2011 as a founding member of BlackRock's Infrastructure business, playing a leading role in the successful integration, fundraising for and overall development of the platform. Mr. Synnott has authored multiple position papers on the topics of Real Assets, Infrastructure & Renewable Power Investment for Pensions, Insurance Companies, Institutional Investors and Public Policy makers. Mr. Synnott also represents BlackRock as a Principal to the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance and as a primary contact for BlackRock's Government Relations and Public Policy engagement.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Synnott worked in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking for 16 years, with responsibility for the execution of public and private transactions in the Renewable Power, Conventional Power, Energy, Transport, Consumer and Technology sectors.
Mr. Synnott earned a BBS degree from Trinity College Dublin and an MBS degree from University College Dublin.
