Linda Robinson is Vice Chairman, member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee and co-chair of the firm’s Global Brand Council. Ms. Robinson served on the BlackRock Board of Directors from 2004 to 2011.
From 2011 to 2016, Ms. Robinson served as the Global Head of Marketing and Communications, where she played a central role in building BlackRock’s brand, spurring innovation to help drive BlackRock’s business, and assembling a world-class marketing and communications team.
Prior to joining BlackRock in June 2011, Ms. Robinson served as Chairman of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (RLM), a strategic communications firm that she co-founded in 1986. During her 25 years with RLM, she provided insight and counsel to CEOs, senior leaders and boards from hundreds of companies on crucial business challenges ranging from strategic positioning to brand development, corporate reputation, crisis management, public policy and media relations, among other issues.
Earlier Ms. Robinson served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Warner Cable Communications from 1983 to 1986. She was part of the management turnaround team that brought the company to a position of profitability and growth, and played a leading role in creating and executing communications and government affairs strategies for the company and its operating divisions.
From 1981 to 1983, Ms. Robinson was Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Transportation, where she was chief public spokesperson and led communications through the air traffic controllers strike during President Reagan’s first term. She began her career as Deputy Press Secretary on the 1980 Reagan-Bush Presidential campaign and subsequently served as the Director of Public Relations for the Republican National Committee.
Ms. Robinson received a BA from the University of Southern California, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.
Ms. Robinson is a trustee of NYU Langone Medical Center and the Chapin School. She also is a member of the board for US Squash, a nonprofit organization which serves as the only national governing body and membership organization for the sport in the United States and StreetSquash, a non-profit organization that promotes athletic and academic excellence and opportunities for children and families in Harlem and Newark.
