About the 3E Initiative

The 3E program is aimed to help participants renew their:

  • Experience through on-the-job learning
  • Exposure through networking and mentoring opportunities
  • Education through specific skill-based training

Whether this program leads to a full-time career, or serves to sharpen the skills necessary to take the next step, it will be a valuable experience for participants to build their career portfolio.

  • Length: 12 weeks starting in September
  • Location: Wilmington, Delaware

Applicant Criteria:

  • VP-equivalent or higher prior to work break; or 7+ years relevant experience
  • 2+ year career break

Working in Technology and Operations

Our team is known for:

  • Being a highly motivated, integral part of the investment management process
  • Facilitating the investment process between our institutional clients and our portfolio management team
  • Managing relationships with external constituents and internal stakeholders
  • Extracting, analyzing, coding and monitoring client, regulatory and internal investment guidelines on the firm’s Aladdin system

What you might work on:

  • Identify problems and be empowered to partner with global peers to innovate and propose solutions
  • Learn to navigate Aladdin, BlackRock’s proprietary investment management and risk platform, and other applications to obtain data, run queries and extract reports around portfolio and client activity
  • Analyze pricing and valuation data in order to support risk analysis, portfolio management, client transaction facilitation, and financial reporting
  • Analyze client exceptions and inquiries for trends to improve the client service experience

Team at a Glance

Our Technology and Operations department includes the following groups, amongst others. Explore each and decide which is the right fit for you.

Pricing
Responsible for the valuation of BlackRock managed portfolios and oversight of the firm’s global valuation processes and procedures.

Client Order Management
Responsible for receiving, authenticating, capturing and facilitating client investment instructions and related activity to downstream teams in the investment process.

Cash Operations
Part of the foundation layer across the firm supporting BlackRock, reconciling and managing in excess of 3.5mm transactions across ~55,000 currencies each month on Aladdin.

Alternative Operations
Oversees the accounting, financial reporting, operations and general administration for a broad range of alternative investment products including hedge funds, private equity funds, real asset funds and other structured products.

Portfolio Compliance
Implementing controls and processes to ensure BlackRock is compliant with applicable regulatory and portfolio issued guidelines.

Investment Accounting Group
Provides accounting and performance measurement services to clients across the financial services spectrum, from funds through to separate accounts, where a shadow accounting service is performed, and outsourced financial accounting for insurance clients.
