Salim Ramji is global head of Corporate Strategy at BlackRock. Mr. Ramji is responsible for helping the firm and its business units to understand the competitive landscape and the markets in which they operate while developing sustainable plans for long-term growth and success.
Before joining BlackRock in April 2014, Mr. Ramji had been a senior partner at McKinsey & Company where he led McKinsey’s Asset Management and Retirement practice areas. He has helped guide numerous asset managers, wealth managers and institutional investors globally. He has been a frequent speaker at conferences on asset management and retirement and has written and been cited extensively on those topics.
Mr. Ramji was corporate finance and mergers and acquisition lawyer in London and Hong Kong before joining McKinsey.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics from the University of Toronto, a law degree from Cambridge University and is a chartered financial analyst. He is a trustee of Graham-Windham, a New York-based child care agency, and the Touch Foundation, which focuses on growing healthcare professionals in Africa.
