Women for Women International (WfWI) works at the nexus of disaster relief and humanitarian aid in international development in conflict-affected areas. Since 1993, WfWI has helped more than 447,000 marginalized women in countries affected by war and conflict including Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Kosovo, Nigeria, Rwanda, and South Sudan.

Through a 12-month social and economic empowerment program, WfWI offers support, tools, and access to life-changing skills to move from crisis and poverty to stability and economic self-sufficiency.

BlackRock’s support is dedicated to expanding WfWI’s pilot programs in Nigeria and Democratic Republic of Congo as well as supporting a randomized control study to understand the impact of WfWI’s economic empowerment programs.

Women for Women International is on the front lines creating stronger women, stronger families and stronger communities in countries affected by war and conflict. We are proud to support WFWI’s continued expansion and to help them better understand the key levers of their economic empowerment programs in creating sustainable change in the communities they serve.
