Nugi Jakobishvili, Managing Director, is Global Head of Alternative Solutions for BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI). Alternative Solutions is responsible for developing and managing multi-alternative investment portfolios.

 

Mr. Jakobishvili service with the firm dates back to 2006. He was previously a senior member of BlackRock's Financial Markets Advisory (FMA) Group, which provides clients with portfolio management and advisory services on complex exposures. Mr. Jakobishvili also played leadership roles related to BlackRock's strategic investment in PennyMac in 2008, and BlackRock's acquisition of Helix Financial in 2010. Prior to joining BlackRock Mr. Jakobishvilli worked for the Office of International Affairs at the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), covering policy issues related to cross-border mergers and acquisitions, highly-leveraged institutions, and counterparty risk, as well as international enforcement actions.

 

Mr. Jakobishvili earned a BA degree, with honors, in political science from Columbia College, a JD degree from Harvard Law School, and an MSc degree in financial economics from Oxford University.
