Which cities of the world run entirely on renewable energy sources?

On Earth Day 2016, the Paris climate accord was signed by 175 parties, agreeing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit the global temperature rise this century to below 2 degrees (The Paris Agreement, United Nations Climate Change, March 2018).

A recent study by CDP shows that in some parts of the world, the transition towards clean energy is well and truly underway.

100 cities worldwide are now getting at least 70% of their electricity from renewable sources such as hydro, geothermal, solar and wind, with 42 of them now powered entirely by clean energy.

Signatories undertake to uphold six principles for integrating ESG factors into their analysis and investment practices and to demand that companies adhere to these principles.
