Thomas F. Callahan, Managing Director, is the Head of BlackRock's Global Cash Management Business. As one of the world's largest cash managers, BlackRock manages approximately US$450 billion in global liquidity assets across multiple currencies, managing portfolios for corporations, banks, foundations, insurance companies and public funds.

 

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2013, Mr. Callahan was the Chief Executive Officer of NYSE Liffe U.S., the U.S. Futures exchange of NYSE Euronext. Prior to NYSE Euronext, Mr. Callahan spent 15 years at Merrill Lynch where he held various leadership positions in both New York and London, including co-Head of Global Financing and Services, Head of Financial Futures and Options, Head of Global Debt Financing, Head of European Liquid Interest Rate Trading and Sales, Head of Global Money Markets, and as a senior trader on the US Government Bond desk. He has served as a Board Member of the Options Clearing Corporation, New York Portfolio Clearing, the Futures Industry Association, the Institute for Financial Markets, and as a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission's Global Markets Advisory Committee. He began his career in 1992 at Prudential Securities in fixed income trading.

 

Mr. Callahan graduated from Harvard University in 1991 with a BA degree in American History.
