Matthew Mosca

Managing Director, Head of Strategy and Business Implementation

Matthew Mosca, Managing Director, is Head of Strategy and Business Implementation for the Official Institutions Group. He serves as a member of the Institutional Client Business (ICB) Leadership Team and the Global Financial Crime and Country Risk Committee.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Mosca was Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock's Institutional Business within the Global Client Group where he was responsible for overseeing group operations and client service for BlackRock's institutional clients. In his role as COO, Mr. Mosca was also head of the Product Engagement Group, the Global Client Service team, and the Institutional Business Analytics team. During his tenure as COO, Mr. Mosca also served as lead Account Manager for a range of the firm's non-US based institutional clients and from 2003 through 2008, served as Director of the BlackRock Global Series, a Dublin based mutual fund family.

Mr. Mosca served as co-Head of Nomura BlackRock Asset Management Co., Ltd. (NBAM) in Tokyo from July 1999 until July 2001. NBAM was a joint venture between Nomura Asset Management Co., Ltd. and BlackRock and provided discretionary investment advisory services to Japanese investors. Mr. Mosca served as the primary bridge to the New York based portfolio management team and served as a product expert with respect to BlackRock's investment advisory capabilities. Mr. Mosca was a member of the Board of Directors and Management Committee of NBAM during that period.

Prior to assuming the role of co-Head of NBAM, Mr. Mosca was responsible for product and business development for the Mutual Funds Group, the marketing and product development team for BlackRock Funds. Mr. Mosca joined BlackRock in 1993 as an analyst in the Mutual Funds Group.

Mr. Mosca earned a BA degree in political science from Columbia University.
