Joe Hernandez

Managing Director, Pensions

Joe joined BlackRock in May 2018 as the Head of Pensions Central/West for the US and Canada Institutional Client Business. He was formerly a Senior Relationship Manager in the US Institutional Distribution team within Goldman Sachs Asset Management. He was responsible for new business development and ongoing client relations for institutional investors in the central United States, with a focus on public pension and retirement systems. Joe joined Goldman Sachs as a Managing Director in 2014.

 

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Joe was a Managing Director at K2 Advisors, a fund of hedge fund firm and a Franklin Templeton Investments company and was responsible for institutional sales and clients.

 

Joe serves as a member of the Associate Advisory Committee for the National Association of State Retirement Administrators (NASRA), whose mission is to help manage sustainable employee retirement systems through education, research and collaboration. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

 

Joe earned an MBA in Management & Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 2004.
