David O’Brien

David O’Brien, Managing Director, is Head of Investment Management, Evergreen Infrastructure. Mr. O’Brien is responsible for overseeing the investment process and investment management activities of Evergreen Infrastructure.

Previously, Mr. O’Brien was a senior Portfolio Manager with Diversified Infrastructure following its acquisition from First Reserve in 2017. Previously, Mr. O’Brien was a senior member of BlackRock’s Infrastructure Executive where he drove the acquisition of the team and funds from First Reserve, led BlackRock’s proprietary investment in Los Ramones, and established a LatAm infrastructure strategy through the acquisition of Infraestructura Institucional in Mexico. Previously, Mr. O’Brien was Head of Americas for BlackRock’s Global Infrastructure Solutions team and was a senior Portfolio Manager with BlackRock’s Climate Infrastructure Team, having joined the firm in 2011 to establish BlackRock’s renewables business. Previously, Mr. O’Brien was a senior investment professional at NTR, a private developer, owner and operator of infrastructure businesses. Prior to joining NTR in 2005, Mr. O’Brien worked for KPMG Corporate Finance.

Mr. O’Brien earned a Bachelor of Commerce (first-class honors) in 1997 and Master of Accounting (first-class honors) in 1998, both from University College Dublin, Ireland, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
