Andy Stewart

Andy Stewart, Managing Director, is the global co-head of BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) and serves as a member of BlackRock's Global Operating and Human Capital Committees. Mr. Stewart is responsible for managing the operation and strategic development of BAI. BAI includes BlackRock's hedge funds and opportunistic funds, funds of hedge funds, private equity and credit, private equity funds of funds, real estate and real assets.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2013, Mr. Stewart worked at Credit Suisse in the Asset Management division, where he was Head of Liquid Alternatives and led their hedge fund, fund of hedge fund, index, credit and commodities teams. Mr. Stewart previously worked for Man Investments, Inc. where he was President and Chief Operating Officer, responsible for business management and overall supervision of the firm's activities, and global head of Managed Accounts. Prior to joining Man Investments, Mr. Stewart was at Financial Risk Management (FRM), where he led FRM's product development and strategy effort. Before joining FRM, Mr. Stewart was an attorney in the Investment Funds Group at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

Mr. Stewart earned a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a JD, cum laude, from Indiana University.
