Rick Rieder

Rick Rieder
Global Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income, BlackRock

Rick Rieder, Managing Director, is BlackRock's Global Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income, and Co-head of BlackRock's Global Fixed Income platform, a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee and Chairman of the BlackRock firm-wide Investment Council.

  • Before joining BlackRock in 2009, Mr. Rieder was President and Chief Executive Officer of R3 Capital Partners. He served as Vice Chairman and member of the Borrowing Committee for the U.S. Treasury. Mr. Rieder is currently a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Investment Advisory Committee on Financial Markets, and was inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Fixed Income Hall of Fame in 2013, and was nominated for Fixed Income Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor for 2014.

    From 1987 to 2008, Mr. Rieder was with Lehman Brothers, most recently as head of the firm's Global Principal Strategies team, a global proprietary investment platform. He was also global head of the firm's credit businesses, Chairman of the Corporate Bond and Loan Capital Commitment Committee, and a member of the Board of Trustees for the corporate pension fund. Before joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Rieder was a credit analyst at SunTrust Banks in Atlanta.

    Mr. Rieder earned a BBA degree in Finance from Emory University in 1983 and an MBA degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. He is a member of the board of Emory University, Emory's Business School, and the University's Investment Committee and is the Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee. Mr. Rieder is founder and chairman of the business school's BBA investment fund and community financial literacy program.

    Mr. Rieder serves as Chairman of the Board of North Star Academy's eleven Charter Schools in Newark, New Jersey and is the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Graduation Generation Public School Collaboration in Atlanta. He is a Trustee for the US Olympic Committee, and on the board of advisors for the Hospital for Special Surgery. He serves on the National Leadership Council of the Communities in Schools Educational Foundation and on the board of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Newark and Essex County Mr. Rieder was honored at the Choose Success Awards ceremony in Atlanta in 2015 for his dedication to public education in Atlanta through CIS and Graduation Generation.

Brad Betts

Brad Betts
Global Head of Big Data, BlackRock

Bradley J. Betts, PhD, Managing Director, is a member of the Global Equity Research team within BlackRock's Scientific Active Equity group. He focuses on the use of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing for generating alpha.

  • Dr. Betts' service with the firm dates back to 2008, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Prior to joining BGI, Dr. Betts was a Scientist at Quantcast where he developed statistical models using large data sets for behavioral targeting of online advertising. Prior to that, he was a Principal Computer Scientist at NASA's Ames Research Center, a Lecturer and Research Scientist in the School of Medicine at Stanford University, and a Member of the Technical Staff at the MITRE Corporation.

    Dr. Betts is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the American Mathematical Society (AMS), and the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He earned a BASc degree in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo in 1993, a MS degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1995, and a PhD degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1999.

Susan Chan

Susan Chan
Head of ETF and Index Investments Asia Pacific, BlackRock

Susan Chan, Managing Director, is the Head of iShares Asia Pacific and is responsible for the iShares business across Asia Pacific, including both distribution and management of iShares products and offices in Japan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.

  • She is a member of the BlackRock Asia-Pacific Executive Committee, the BlackRock Global iShares Executive Committee and the BlackRock Global Operating Committee. Ms. Chan joined BlackRock in July 2013 as head of Asia Pacific iShares Capital Markets and Products.

    Prior to joining BlackRock, she was a Managing Director at Deutsche Bank AG, Hong Kong where she was Head of Equity Structuring, Strategic Equity Transactions and DBx Asia Pacific. Before Deutsche Bank, she was Managing Director at Barclays Capital Asia Limited where she held various positions in equity derivatives with the most recent as Head of Equity and Funds Structured, Asia Pacific. She was also a member of the Global EFS Executive Committee, the Asia Pacific Structuring Executive Committee, Founder and Executive Sponsor for the Women's Internal Network, Asia Pacific and a Board Member of Barclays Capital Hong Kong Limited.

    Ms. Chan is a graduate of Boston University, Boston, MA.

Ked Hogan

Ked Hogan
Head of Investments, Factor-Based Strategies Group, BlackRock

Ked Hogan, PhD, Managing Director, is a member of BlackRock's Factor-Based Strategies Group. Dr. Hogan is the Head of Investments which manages factor based risk parity strategies for institutional and retail clients.

  • Dr. Hogan's service with the firm dates back to 1997, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Previously, Dr. Hogan has served as the head of Thematic Equity Investing for SAE, and as the Head of Equity and Emerging Market Research in GMSG. Prior to joining BGI, Dr. Hogan was a professor of finance at McGill University. He has published in many academic journals including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Quantitative Analysis and the Journal of International Economics. In addition, Dr. Hogan was rewarded the William Sharpe award for the best paper of 2007 in the Journal of Financial Quantitative Analysis.

    Dr. Hogan earned a BA degree and PhD both in economics from Arizona State University in 1982 and 1990, respectively.

Kameron Rezai

Kameron Rezai
Chief Operating Officer of Future Advisor, BlackRock

Kameron Rezai, Managing Director, is Chief Operating Officer of FutureAdvisor, a digital advice technology subsidiary of BlackRock (NYSE: BLK). In this role, he is responsible for leading company operations to support the mission of delivering technology-enabled wealth management through financial institution partners.

  • Mr. Rezai is also a senior leader in BlackRock's broader efforts to deliver and partner with technology solutions to financial advisors and consumers. Previously, he was Head of Partnerships for BlackRock's US Direct Retail channel, which included business development with direct online brokers and digital/"robo" advisors.

    Prior to joining BlackRock in 2011, Mr. Rezai was Chief Operating Officer and Head of Client Service for Structural Wealth, a venture capital backed digital wealth management firm. Earlier in his career, Mr. Rezai advised financial institutions on strategy and new product development at McKinsey & Company, and was a research analyst at Elm Ridge Capital, a long-short equity hedge fund.

    Mr. Rezai earned a BA degree in Economics and Mathematics from Yale University and an MBA degree from the Kellogg School of Management.

Jim Barry

Jim Barry
Managing Director, As the Global Head of Real Assets at BlackRock

Mr. Barry leads a platform with ~$30Bn in AUM across multiple Real Estate and Infrastructure offerings and with a presence in 22 cities globally. Mr. Barry is responsible for determining the strategic direction of the Real Assets platform, steering the implementation of the platform's investment strategies, and leading platform growth initiatives.

  • Mr. Barry also serves as the Global Head of BlackRock's Infrastructure business, which he founded in 2011 with the launch of the Global Renewable Power group and since then has expanded the platform's strategies to include European and North American Infrastructure Debt strategies, an Infrastructure Solutions offering, and a Mexico focused Latin American infrastructure equity strategy.

    Prior to joining BlackRock in 2011, Mr. Barry spent 11 years as the CEO of NTR plc, where he led the transformation of NTR from its origins as an Irish toll road developer into a leading international developer, and owner and operator of a portfolio of diverse infrastructure businesses. Prior to joining NTR, Mr. Barry worked at Bain and Company and in the investment banking division of Morgan Stanley.

    Mr. Barry earned a BComm from University College Cork in 1989 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1994.

Joanna Nash

Joanna Nash
Global Equities Research, Scientific Active Equities, BlackRock

Joanna Nash, PhD, Vice President, Research Analyst, Scientific Active Equities. Dr. Nash's service with the firm dates back to 2008, including her time with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. At BGI, she was a research analyst on the Australian equities research team.

  • Prior to joining BGI, Dr. Nash was a quantitative analyst at the Commonwealth bank of Australia. Previously, she worked as a consultant analyzing market manipulation in the US gasoline markets and mergers in the petroleum industry.

    She is currently a visiting fellow at the University of Technology, Sydney, where she teaches the postgraduate course 'Financial Econometrics'. Her honours research has been published in Economic Letters. Dr. Nash earned a Bachelor's degree, with honours in Economics and a Bachelors degree in law in from the University of New South Wales in 2002 and a Masters degree and PhD in econometrics from Yale University in 2004 and 2006, respectively.

Charlie Lanchester

Charlie Lanchester
Head of Australian Fundamental Equities, BlackRock

Charlie Lanchester, ASIP, Managing Director, and Head of the Australian Fundamental Equity team. He is the portfolio manager for the BlackRock Concentrated Industrial Share Fund.

  • Mr. Lanchester was a long standing member of the Australian Equities team at Perpetual Investments. He was the lead manager of the Perpetual Industrial Share Fund and a portfolio manager for 10 years.  As the Deputy Head of Equities he managed a team of analysts with a focus on performance measurement. Prior to Perpetual, Charlie worked as a senior telecoms analyst at Platinum Asset Management. Charlie began his investment career in London in 1992 where he worked at Schroder Investment Management as a UK equity analyst.  Charlie is an associate of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and has a BA (hons) in Modern History from New College, Oxford.

Dominik Rohe

Dominik Rohe
Country Head Australia, BlackRock

Dominik Rohe, Managing Director, is Country Head for BlackRock Australia and a member of the Global Operating Committee, the APAC Executive Committee and chairs the Australian Board and Executive Committees.

  • Before assuming his current role, Mr. Rohe was Head of the Wealth and Institutional businesses for the Latin America & Iberia region where he was responsible for building BlackRock's business across both client segments, overseeing teams across seven BlackRock offices in the region. Mr. Rohe also served as a member of the Americas Executive Committee as well as the Latin America & Iberia Executive Committee.

    Mr. Rohe joined BlackRock in 2005, and was responsible for working with institutional clients in Europe. In addition, Mr. Rohe has been part of BlackRock's merger integration teams, having worked in 2007 on the integration of Merrill Lynch Investment Management in London and Frankfurt and in 2009 on the integration of BGI's Latin America business in São Paulo.

    Prior to joining BlackRock in 2005, Mr. Rohe worked at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein on the private placement and frequent issuer desks within Debt Capital Markets for six years. He began his career in 1997 as an Emerging Markets Credit Analyst at Republic National Bank of New York. Mr. Rohe earned a BA degree, cum laude, in business administration with a minor in economics from St. Francis College in 1997.

    Mr. Rohe is a member of the American Council in Germany.

Jason Collins

Jason Collins
Head of Client Business Australia, BlackRock

Jason Collins, Managing Director, is the Head of the Institutional Client Business Australasia, and is a member of the BlackRock Australia Executive Committee. In this role he has responsibility for institutional clients, multi-managers, asset consultants and marketing/communications in the region.

  • Mr. Collins joined BlackRock in April 2013 from Ascalon Capital Managers, a subsidiary of BT Financial Group, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of the Australian Operations. Ascalon is a private equity firm which takes active stakes in boutique asset management firms. Mr. Collins was at BT for four years, and prior to that spent five-and-a-half years with Deutsche Bank in Singapore. Mr. Collins started his careers in funds management with Bankers Trust Australia in 1998. Before joining BT, Mr. Collins worked as a financial markets journalist.

    Mr. Collins earned a Bachelor of Business (1992) and a Graduate Diploma in Communications (1999) from the University of Technology, Sydney. Outside of BlackRock, Mr. Collins is a Director of not-for-profit group SurfAid International.

Jon Howie

Jon Howie
Head of iShares Australia, BlackRock

Jon Howie, Director and Head of iShares Australia. He is responsible for the management and development of the iShares exchange traded fund (ETF) business in Australia. His responsibilities include supporting iShares distribution efforts in the intermediary and institutional segments, ensuring the efficiency of the ETF capital markets environment and development and execution of business strategy.

  • Mr. Howie joined BlackRock in June 2011. Prior to joining BlackRock he worked at Macquarie Bank, in the equities structured products business, and more recently on the Delta 1 trading desk in Hong Kong. Prior to Macquarie, Mr. Howie was a founding director of Capital Management Exchange (CMX) where he was responsible for commercializing the firms' innovative risk management and funding solution for non-bank lenders.

    Mr. Howie holds an MBA from Macquarie University and a Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.

Tony Marek

Tony Marek
Global Head of Product Strategy, Multi-Asset Strategies - Income, BlackRock

Tony Marek, CFA, CPA, Director, is the Global Head of Product Strategy for BlackRock Multi-Asset Strategies (MAS) - Income, which is responsible for developing, assembling and managing investment solutions involving multiple strategies and asset classes. As a portfolio strategist, he represents the views of the investment team and account managers.

  • Mr. Marek's service with the firm dates back to 2009. Prior to assuming his current role, he was a member of the Private Client team at BlackRock, supporting independent Financial Advisors across the state of Florida. Mr. Marek has also worked in equity research at American Century Investments. Prior to joining the investment management industry, he was a Senior Tax Advisor with Deloitte in Kansas City, Missouri where his client base consisted of Ultra High Net Worth individuals, corporations and partnerships.

    Mr. Marek holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master's degree in accountancy from Truman State University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Public Accountant.

Tony Marek

Simon Rafferty, CIMA, Vice President, is a member of BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies Group and Product Strategist for the BlackRock Global Allocation Fund, responsible for representing the investment teamon a global basis to both retail and institutional clients.

  • Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Mr. Rafferty was Southern Regional Manager for Retail Sales in BlackRock’s Australian business responsible for maintaining the firms retail and high net worth relationships across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.  Prior to joining BlackRock in 2007 he worked as a financial advisor where he was made partner of his firm from 2004.

    Mr. Rafferty holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from University of Canberra in 2001.

Antony Catalano

Antony Catalano
Chief Executive Officer of Domain Group

Antony Catalano is Chief Executive Officer of Domain Group and a Director of Metro Media Publishing, positions he has held since November, 2013. After a long career with Fairfax Media and The Herald & Weekly Times, Antony founded MMP in 2009, where he served as CEO and Publisher.

  • MMP was acquired by Fairfax in two transactions: 50% was acquired in July, 2012, and the remaining 50% in February, 2015. Antony’s media career at The Herald & Weekly Times began as a copy boy in 1985. He spent 15 years as a journalist with The Sun News Pictorial, The Herald-Sun and The Age, winning two Melbourne Press Club awards. In 2001, he was appointed Director of Real Estate at The Age, General Manager of MPG and a member of The Age senior management team. In 2004, he was appointed Classified Director Real Estate, Motoring and General Classifieds, before being appointed Director Newspaper Sales and Marketing and Product Development, Fairfax Victoria, in 2005.
