Rob Goldstein is BlackRock’s Chief Operating Officer and Global Head of BlackRock Solutions. He is a member of the Global Executive Committee and the Global Operating Committee.
As COO, Mr. Goldstein helps oversee the day-to-day global business of the firm and ensure that the organization, including its investments, client, risk and technology functions, have the necessary connectivity, coordination and operating processes.
Prior to his appointment as COO in 2014, Mr. Goldstein had been the head of the firm’s Institutional Client Business where he played a key role in developing and providing innovative products and services to institutional investors around the world.
He began his career in 1994 as an analyst in BlackRock’s Portfolio Analytics Group. Mr. Goldstein worked as a risk advisor to mortgage and insurance clients and led the development of the infrastructure and processes used to model and analyze client portfolios. He was instrumental in building the client service, business development and implementation capabilities of Blackrock’s portfolio and risk management platform.
Mr. Goldstein was twice-named to Fortune's “40 Under 40” list and was selected for Institutional Investor’s "Tech 50" as one of the top technology entrepreneurs in financial services. He co-authored "Nonagency Residential Mortgage-Backed Securities" in the eighth edition of The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and meetings.
He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Battery Conservancy. Mr. Goldstein earned a BS degree, magna cum laude, in economics from Binghamton University in 1994.
