Global Head of Marketing and Communications

Ms. Robinson is a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee and is the global head of Marketing and Communications.

She is responsible for enterprise marketing, media relations, internal communications and executive communications, and also works closely with investor relations, government relations and philanthropy. Ms. Robinson served on the BlackRock Board of Directors from 2004 to 2011.

Prior to joining BlackRock in June 2011, Ms. Robinson served as Chairman of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (RLM), a strategic communications firm that she co-founded in 1986. During her 25 years with the Firm, she provided strategic counsel to CEOs and senior management of hundreds of companies on a broad range of business challenges, including corporate positioning, crisis management, public policy, media outreach, and more.

Earlier Ms. Robinson served as senior vice president of corporate affairs at Warner Cable Communications from 1983 to 1986. She was part of the management turnaround team that brought the company to a position of profitability and growth, and played a leading role in creating and executing communications and government affairs strategies for the company and its operating divisions.

From 1981 to 1983, Ms. Robinson was director of public affairs for the Department of Transportation, where she was a chief public spokesperson and principal staff advisor. She began her career as deputy press secretary on the 1980 Reagan-Bush Presidential campaign and subsequently as the director of public relations for the Republican National Committee.

Ms. Robinson received a BA from the University of Southern California, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She is a trustee of NYU Langone Medical Center and The Chapin School.
