Mr. Hallac is Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock. Mr. Hallac serves as a member of the Global Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Global Operating Committee. He oversees BlackRock’s key operating units across investment, client, risk and technology functions.
Mr. Hallac was a co-founder and the head of BlackRock Solutions until 2009. As the initial architect of Aladdin and many of BlackRock’s operating processes, Mr. Hallac remains heavily involved in the evolution of Aladdin and BlackRock’s centralized business processes.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 1988, Mr. Hallac was an associate in the Mortgage Products Group at The First Boston Corporation. In 2001, Mr. Hallac, with his colleague, Bennett Golub, PhD, received the "Asset Management Risk Manager of the Year" award from Risk Magazine.
Mr. Hallac earned a BA degree in economics and computer science from Brandeis University in 1986.
