Linda Robinson

Linda Robinson leads marketing and communications worldwide for BlackRock and is a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee.

Ms. Robinson is responsible for enterprise marketing, media relations, internal communications and executive communications. She also works closely with investor relations, government relations, strategy, legal and philanthropy. Ms. Robinson served on the BlackRock Board of Directors from 2004 to 2011.

Prior to joining BlackRock in June 2011, Ms. Robinson served as Chairman of Robinson Lerer & Montgomery (RLM), a strategic communications firm that she co-founded in 1986. During her 25 years with RLM, she provided insight and counsel to CEOs, senior leaders and boards from hundreds of companies on crucial business challenges ranging from strategic positioning to brand development, corporate reputation, crisis management, public policy and media relations, among other issues.

Earlier Ms. Robinson served as senior vice president of corporate affairs at Warner Cable Communications from 1983 to 1986. She was part of the management turnaround team that brought the company to a position of profitability and growth, and played a leading role in creating and executing communications and government affairs strategies for the company and its operating divisions.

From 1981 to 1983, Ms. Robinson was director of public affairs for the Department of Transportation, where she was chief public spokesperson and led communications through the air traffic controllers strike during President Reagan’s first term. She began her career as deputy press secretary on the 1980 Reagan-Bush Presidential campaign and subsequently served as the director of public relations for the Republican National Committee.

Ms. Robinson received a BA from the University of Southern California, where she graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

Ms. Robinson is a trustee of NYU Langone Medical Center and the Chapin School. She also is a member of the board of StreetSquash, a non-profit organization that promotes athletic and academic excellence and opportunities for children and families in Harlem and Newark.
